The Group will gather at 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. EST Jan. 18,2009 Prayers will be lifted up for the President Elect & His family, our nation and our world.
All are welcome to join us either in person or in solidarity from your respective places. At 2:30 EST, join us for one hour of vigilant prayer, focusing on the safety, well being, wisdom, discernment, leadership, faith, and over all direction of our new president, his family, the nation and the world as stated above. There are no special instructions other than to be vigilant and in solidarity with the group during that time period, albeit via prayer, meditation, silent reflection, group prayer, etc. at the designated time.

Philippians 4:4-5 Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be know unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
Loving Father, continue to watch over our President-Elect Barack Obama, Vice Presidenti-Elect Joseph Biden, their families, and the new administration and staffs. Guide them Father as they face the monumental challenges that come with the office (wars, rumors of wars, economic crises, health care crises, education issues, high jobless rates, home foreclosures, homelessness, etc.). Father cause these leaders to follow you and your word. Strengthen their resolve to live for you and maintain a strong walk with you. Protect them from the forces of evil. Give them wisdom and guidance. Thank you for answered prayers, our loving God. Amen

Lord not only do we need you to look after our newly elected leaders but we also need you to look after those who elected them. Our country is still greatly divided on many issues and we need you help get us to common ground where we can work as a united body yet with tolerable differences.
Please O Lord bring us together as one nation, one people, one purpose, to be a light in this very dark world. President-Elect Obama and VP-Elect Biden can not do this job alone, send them the help they need. Let favor be with them in all they seek to do. Let your grace and mercy be their constant companions and let the love of their family be their strength to make it through their first term.
Now God, please bless the staffs that have been chosen by each man to help them. Bless the members of this prayer team who understand, "with God all things are possible". Bless the bloggers who have been in the trenches for P-E Obama from the beginning and bless all who stand ready to help bring about the change this country needs.
Bless our country and bless and protect those who daily place their lives in jepardy to keep us safe. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.

Let's also pray a hedge of protection upon Malia and Sasha as they must be a bit anxious about starting a new school...my kids had to switch schools a couple of tiimes and it's not easy.
Lord, we pray that Malia and Sasha would have a peace that passes all understanding guarding their hearts and minds as they prepare to enter a new school. We pray they would quickly make real friends and experience your joy in their new life. We pray that they would always feel grounded and secure in your love and their parent's love. We pray that they would know your perfect love and reflect it those around them. Keep them safe and secure. We pray for Michelle and Barack as parents that they would be wise and discerning in how to best parent their girls. Also give them comfort and peace as so often parents feel things so deeply for their children. Annoint the Obama family with your grace and peace this day and give them a joy that comes only from you as they transition into a new life in these upcoming weeks.
