Joyous Celebration - I Will Sing Praises (Live In Jo'burg)
Joyous Celebration is South Africa's largest and most successful Gospel choir. Led by musical director Mthunzi Namba and producer/conductor Lindelani Mkhize, they have released 12 albums in 12 years and are determined to release an album a year for as long as they can. The charismatic and energetic choir has blessed audiences across Southern Africa, with their opening shows selling out in the first week.
Joyous Celebration has given birth to some of South Africa's biggest musicians today, such as the late Wendy Mseleku, Margaret Motsage, Swazi Dlamini, Vicky Vilakazi, Benjamin Dube, Judith Sephuma, Jabu Hlongwane, among others. Producer Lindelani Mkhize has been hailed South Africa's number 1 gospel lyricist, and writes for numerous artists including Kabelo. Members of JC are selected at competitive nationwide auditions every 2 years. When the choir started, the mission was to "create a group that would uplift the nation and reflect South Africa's inspirational transition". 12 years later, they have won numerous awards from the prestigious KORA awards to the regional South African Music Awards.
They sing a wide range of gospel tracks from traditional hymns to contemporary christian music. Any one album will contain atleast 8 languages, with a dash of some celebratory praise and worship songs.

The past ten years have been a long and winding road. We have received tremendous support across the country and God’s Mercy and Grace over the years is the reason we are where we are today, TEN YEARS LATER.
The Joyous concept has always been enigmatic to a lot of people because of its format. We have been referred to as a Gospel group or Gospel Choir. We prefer to be referred to as a Gospel Project or a Gospel Concept. The reason being that, the crew changes at least every two years. The concept is basically created in such a way that performers are selected through an intense auditioning process, after which they attend music workshops. During these workshops they learn skills such as songwriting to performance. We then rehearse a repertoire for about two months. After that the crew is on the road for the whole year. Performers always sign a 1 year contract to be in the Project, although there will be some performers that will be with Joyous celebration for more than a year.
