Soul Children of Chicago - Perfect Praise (Oh Lord How Excellent) ft. Le...
This version of "Perfect Praise" (correct name for "How Excellent" as we sometimes refer to it) varies a bit but is equally as powerful as the next. This is one spectacular gospel vocalist we have been blessed with in our generation. Praise God for her. Listen closely and compare the two versions for your listening and contemplation pleasure.
Perfect Praise - Lecresia Campbell Soul Children
This is a favorite that I want to have presented at my final service. Be sure to remember that, Bro. Ron.

Lecresia Campbell
Lecresia Campbell
Actress, Singer, Worshipper are words that best describe Lecresia Campbell.Born in Chicago, as a child, Lecresia wanted to be a school teacher. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Applied Voice from Tougaloo College in Tougaloo, Mississippi, Ms. Campbell taught elementary school for 8 years. Ms. Campbell took a leave of absence to pursue her passion.
Ms.Campbell was the lead singer on Walt Whitman & the Soul Children of Chicago’s 1990 gospel smash, “Perfect Praise (How Excellent).” After recording her rendition of “Perfect Praise (How Excellent),” which took the nation by storm, Lecresia became a background vocalist for Vanessa Bell Armstrong and later shared the stage as a solo artist with singers such as Larnelle Harris, Donnie McClurkin, Mary Mary, Gerald Levert, Stephanie Mills, and a host of others.
Lecresia began captivating audiences in musical plays such as Dreamgirls, in which she starred as Effie. She performed in two of David Talbert's hit shows Mr. Right Now and His Woman, His Wife. Both productions toured the country performing to sold out audience for 3 years. She recently played TV Judge Mathis’ mother in Tell it to the Judge.
In 2008,Ms. Campbell recorded a solo album, Even Me, which earned her a Stellar Award nomination for Best Female Vocalist – Traditional. Most recently, she could be heard on The Shalom Church City of Peace Mass Choir’s album, Simply Amazing, singing “When I See the Blood;” and leading “Draw Me Nearer” on the Mississippi Mass Choir’s 2014 release, Declaration of Dependence.
No one who has heard Ms. Campbell sing will forget the skyrocketing high notes that she would pepper into her presentations. Lecresia has been a regular on Trinity Broad Casting Network (TBN) with Tommy Tenney, author of The God Chasers, and Bishop Eddie Long, pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia.
Ms. Campbell had the number five spot on the chart with the hit Magnify from the Gospel Heritage Praise and Worship project and currently is working on the DVD of Lecresia Campbell’s Greatest Hits. Lecresia was in a lane of her own, a sought-after psalmist best known for her song “Perfect Praise (How Excellent),” which was recorded with Walt Whitman & The Soul Children of Chicago. She mixed traditional gospel with her classical training, something we’d later coin “gospera.” But Lecresia was a powerhouse; a show-stopping singer that knew how to invoke the presence of God.

Dear God
I'll trust You
Dear God I thank you for all you do in my life
I thank you for my family, my friends and love ones.
I thank you for all the pains, sicknesses and disappointments that came to me.
They helped me to learn about life, learn the real about right and wrong and the reasons to just do the right thing.
I have learned that you are my God and I am your creation.
My life is to praise you and glorify you.
You have let me know that you gave your Son so I can be with you in glory.
I smile because I know and I am happy that you have helped me to see the path. You have stopped me when I have tried to go my own way, you have protected me when I have been in danger and doing the wrong thing.
Please dear God help me to do your work for my life.
I love you God and praise you, I thank you always for your love!
Amen, Amen, Amen

Life is about the love of God 2
Life is about the love of God - playlist
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 5:8, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." In this verse and in John 3:16, we find no conditions placed on God's love for us. God doesn't say, "as soon as you clean up your act, I'll love you; " nor does He say, "I'll sacrifice my Son if you promise to love Me." In fact, in Romans 5:8, we find just the opposite. God wants us to know that His love is unconditional, so He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us while we were still unlovable sinners. We didn't have to get clean, and we didn't have to make any promises to God before we could experience His love. His love for us has always existed, and because of that, He did all the giving and sacrificing long before we were even aware that we needed His love.
God is Love, and His love is very different from human love. God's love is unconditional, and it's not based on feelings or emotions. He doesn't love us because we're lovable or because we make Him feel good; He loves us because He is love. He created us to have a loving relationship with Him, and He sacrificed His own Son (who also willingly died for us) to restore that relationship.
Paul gives us an excellent description of love:
Love is very patient and kind, never jealous or envious, never boastful or proud, never haughty or selfish or rude. Love does not demand its own way. It is not irritable or touchy. It does not hold grudges and will hardly even notice when others do it wrong.
It is never glad about injustice, but rejoices whenever truth wins out. If you love someone you will be loyal to him no matter what the cost. You will always believe in him, always expect the best of him, and always stand your ground in defending him.
God’s Love and Ours
7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
13 This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. 16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. 17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
19 We love because he first loved us. 20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. 21 And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.
