Universal Gospel Choir - Hlonolofatsa
Choir Conductor, Pastor Gibson Ngcobo
The Universal Gospel choir was formed in February 2006. It consists of ± 40 members. The Choir is based in Johannesburg and its members are from neighboring locations like Soweto, Thembisa, Thokoza and some other City Suburbs.
The choir had the good fortune to perform with some of South Africa's renowned gospel singers, like Rebecca Malope, Sfiso, Thembinkosi and Deborah Frazer. Although the Choir is fairly new in the music industry this has not borne complacency in the choir members but has motivated them to work even harder to promote the Universal Gospel Choir, not only in South Africa, they’ve traveled to South America singing in States like Bahia, Rio de Janeiro, And Sao Paulo and got a chance to record a live CD and DVD. They also went to Mozambique to perform in Machava Stadium where there was approximately ± 100 000 people. They have also graced stages in Lesotho, Botswana and Lesotho.
THE MISSION
1. Through our music we aim to draw people closer to God through worship
2. We believe in putting God first in everything; He is the “leader” of this choir
3. We want to glorify and honor God with our music
4. We want to spread the Good News to all the world through song
5. We desire to touch the lives of our audience by telling them that God is alive
6. We want to Bring all kinds of people together with music because pain and suffering knows no race, culture, or age
7. We desire to be instruments in the hands of God
